Our growing herd of bison consists of a variety of age groups from newborn calves that are born on the farm in the spring and early summer, to mature breeding animals.  The bison are enabling us to take back parts of the farm that were conventionally farmed fields out of grass seed production and into stored carbon in the form of healthy grasses.  These pastures use no till and no spray principles in line with organic production.  The bison are primarily fed from these pastures along with essential minerals and supplements.  They also enjoy spent brewers grain from Hop Valley from time to time.
